Zach West, a talented 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive tackle, keeps in regular contact with Borbely, UofL's offensive line coach.
"He's a great guy and he definitely knows what he's talking about," West said. "I had heard of him before he went to Louisville. He's definitely put guys in the pros and got them where they wanted to be. He said he's [recruiting] me as a tackle."
West visited Louisville last year for their game against Arkansas State, one of the last home game for Steve Kragthorpe. West made another visit to Louisville last month and watched the Cardinals last game at Freedom Hall. He said he has noticed major differences in the Louisville program since Strong arrived in December.
"You can tell it's more uptempo and there's a lot more enthusiasm with the players now that Coach Strong is there," West said. "It seems like a lot more people are excited where the program is going this year."
"Louisville is high up there but we're still looking at a lot of [programs]," West said. "We were just at Tennessee a couple hours ago and I want to visit a lot of different places. I think we're going to go to Kentucky on Saturday and Notre Dame next week. I'm keeping everything open."
West said he was impressed with his visit with the Volunteers.
"That was the first time we contacted Tennessee and went down there today to see practice, visit the facilities," West said. "Tennessee is very impressive. We liked the new coaches and they showed us around really well. It all looked great."
West will probably visit Louisville later this spring. He said he'll likely attend Louisville's spring game this month.
"I'll most likely take official visits in the fall and wait until after the season to decide," West said.
