Deiontrez Mount missed six games last season, but totaled 48 tackles, including 17 for loss and two sacks.
Wednesday, Mount made an early decision and decided to call Strong and commit to the Cardinals. He becomes the 11th commitment in Louisville's 2011 recruiting class.
"He is relatively raw at 6'6 and 215 ponds but he is a tremendous athlete with tremendous character and has overcome a lot of things in his life and it's a real exciting time for him right now," said Fort Walton coach Mike Owens. "He has tons of upside and played outside linebacker and defensive end for us but most people project him as a pass rushing guy. He looks like a wide receiver but he is very strong and a 300-pound bench guy. He has great physical ability and speed and just a great character guy."
Mount plays all over the field for Fort Walton at outside linebacker, defensive end and safety. He chose Louisville over Wisconsin, Wake Forest, South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida State, all of whom have offered Mount scholarships.
