Louisville assistant Ron Dugans recently paid a visit to Duggan at his school and made the 6-foot-4, 220-pound linebacker an offer.
"I met Coach [Ron] Dugans at school and we had a real brief conversation and he said they were interested in me," Duggan said. "I was told to call them a couple days later and they wanted to offer me a scholarship. I'm pretty excited about it. I know some people down at Louisville because three of our guys are down there. I knew Greg pretty well, but I didn't know Darius or Stephon real well.. And Coach Strong is a great coach. So I'm pretty excited about it."
Duggan, who now holds 16 offers and made 31 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions as a junior, said he hopes to visit Louisville sometime this summer.
"They [Louisville] said they liked my length and athleticism and they felt I had a lot of potential," Duggan said. "They said I had a chance to play early and thought I'd be a great fit in the program."
With his recruitment heating up this spring, Duggan hit the road to visit several of the program who have offered him scholarships. "It's been a pretty crazy spring with recruiting," Duggan said. "I visited Duke, Boston College and UC because it's ten minutes from my house. I went to junior days at Kentucky and Purdue. And I visited North Carolina and went to the Notre Dame spring game."
Two programs currently stand out on Duggans list.
"I like Boston College a lot because I visited there and felt really comfortable with the whole Jesuit thing coming from St. X," Duggan said. "And I like Wisconsin. I know a couple guys on that team and I think I'm going to visit there sometime early this summer. After that it's kind of a toss up."
Duggan says he knows what he's looking for in a college. "For me, one of the biggest things is academics," said Duggan. "After that I'd say campus life style and then if I get along with the coaches and players that I will spend my time with."
