Louisville defensive coordinator Vance Bedford traveled to Texas a few weeks back to check out Rowe and has been laying the groundwork for the Cardinals with the talented defensive back. This week, Rowe traveled to the midwest to visit Louisville and Purdue.
"I'm developing a good relationship with Coach Bedford," Rowe said. "I talked to Coach [Charlie] Strong and Coach Hurtt on my visit. I was surprised by Louisville. I thought it would be out in the country but it's close to downtown. I was really impressed with the coaching staff, the facilities and I liked how close everything was on their campus. They told me they were going to expand their weight room also."
Rowe visited Louisville on Monday, then headed north to visit Purdue. "I liked them too," Rowe said. "They have a good coaching staff and I liked their campus, too."
Louisville and Purdue have a slot in Rowe's Top 5, as do Utah, Duke and Arizona. Rowe holds offers from all five programs and he told InsideTheVille.com in May that the Utes were standing out on his list. Did the Cardinals make up some ground on Utah after his visit this week?
"There is a lot of things I learned about Louisville and the coaching staff," Rowe told Scout.com's Jason Higdon. "It's nice. I loved the visit and it now makes things complicated choosing a school."
Rowe plans to visit Utah next weekend and Arizona the following Monday. He said he plans to make a college decision in July following his visits to Salt Lake City and Tucson.
"I don't mind the location of any of my top five," Rowe said. "My grandma lives in Indianapolis so I'd be close to her if I went to Louisville or Purdue and could see her more often."
Rowe said Utah is currently recruiting him harder than the other schools on his list. "The recruiter keeps in more frequent contact and we email each other a lot."
