After missing his junior season with a knee injury, Louisville quarterback commit DaMarcus Smith of Seneca H.S. was back in action Friday night in scrimmage games against Doss and Jeffersontown.
Smith, a standout at the EA Sports Elite 11 Camp, didn't show much rust against the Dragons and Chargers. The 6'1, 185-pound Smith, who wore a protective brace on his left knee, was on target with his passes during the controlled scrimmage and showed an incredibly strong arm, while moving well in the pocket when needed.
One of the state's top players, Smith drew a nice crowd out to Seneca to see his return, including 2011 Louisville commit DeVante Parker (Ballard) and former Central standout Tim Patterson.
Smith and Seneca open the season officially next week when they host the Central Yellowjackets.
