Top freshman WR injured

Louisville freshman Michaelee Harris, a talented wide receiver from Miami, Fla., was injured in practice Tuesday morning. Big things were expected from Harris, a former four-star recruit, this season. InsideTheVille.com has the latest on Harris' injury.

Michaelee Harris, one of Louisville's top freshmen, injured his knee during practice Tuesday morning. A former four-star wide receiver from Miami, Harris was expected to contribute to the Cardinals offense this season.

Multiple sources have informed InsideTheVille.com that the injury appears 'serious' in nature. However, team officials told InsideTheVille.com Tuesday that Harris, 6'1, 180, would be evaluated this afternoon by team doctors to determine the extent and seriousness of the injury.

One of the top wide receivers coming out of Miami Northwestern HS last year, Harris had received strong praise for his play in fall camp from the coaching staff and fellow teammates. Harris, along with junior college transfer Josh Bellamy, was expected to boost a wide receiver corps that returned seniors Doug Beaumont and Troy Pascley and sophomore Andrell Smith, but lacked a star playmaker.

"We think Michaelee Harris is going to be a really good player," UofL offensive coordinator Mike Sanford told the media last week.
