Dukes Louisville's next commitment?

Chris Dukes, a three-star corner from Cinicnnati, OH, told InsideTheVille.com Thursday night that Louisville remains his leader. Dukes will visit Louisville this weekend and received a call from Charlie Strong Wednesday - the first day coaches could call prospects. Will Dukes 'pop' for the Cardinals on his visit?

Three-star Cincinnati (OH) Colerain defensive back Chris Dukes could be Louisville's next commitment.

Dukes told InsideTheVille.com Thursday night that Louisville remains the leader in his recruitment and said there's a "very good possibility" he could commit to Charlie Strong's Cards during his visit to campus this weekend.

"They're still pretty much at the top of my list," Dukes said. "I haven't decided when I'm going to make a decision at this point. I mentioned [that I might commit] to Coach [Larry] Slade and Coach [Ron] Dugans but I haven't talked to any of the other coaches about it."

Chris Dukes could commit to UofL this weekend on his visit.
Dukes played on a 7-on-7 team this summer with Louisville commit DaMarcus Smith and developed a good relationship with the future UofL quarterback. Dukes is also a former high school teammate of UofL freshman linebacker Tyon Dixon.

"Me and him [Smith] pretty much clicked on all cylinders," Dukes said. "He had a bug in my ear about [committing] the whole time I was down there."

Wednesday was the first day college coaches could call prospects and Dukes received a call from Charlie Strong's staff.

"I talked to Coach Strong and a couple of the other [coaches] yesterday," Dukes said. "It went pretty good. They were pretty excited about me coming up and they told me that I could come in and get playing time, if not start, my freshman year."

Strong also talked with Dukes about Louisville's upcoming contest against Kentucky.

"He told me the biggest thing when I come to the game is that they're rebuilding so don't be expecting anything spectacular," Dukes said. "They're pretty much rebuilding and that's what he was talking about."

Dukes said that teammate Tyler Williams was attending Saturday's game with him. He also mentioned that another teammate, Trayion Durham, wasn't going to visit.
