Now, the four-star Scout.com prospect is thinking hard about making a big decision about his future. Behenan has turned off his cell phone. The frontrunner for Kentucky Mr. Basketball and his mother are in the process of sorting out all the information they learned from Rick Pitino's staff over the weekend and are trying to decide if they're ready to make a verbal commitment to the Cardinals.
Scout.com recruiting analyst Evan Daniels reported Sunday morning on InsideTheVille.com's premium recruiting forum that Louisville has emerged as the leader for Behanan's services. Is that accurate?
"I don't know, man, are you trying to get me to say that?," Sherrill said laughing. "I'm not going to go on record with that. That's something they probably need to say. Obviously, Louisville is a strong program for him and they've done a great job presenting their program. I think it's up to him and his mom what decision they want to make."
How would Sherrill classify Behanan's official visit to UofL this weekend?
"I think they had a really nice visit," Sherrill said. "Louisville did a great job kind of entertaining Chane and showing him their program. They got a chance to spend a lot of time with the team and time around the coaches. I think he learned what he needed to know about the Louisville basketball program."
Behanan has an official visit tentatively set for Ohio State next weekend.
"Louisville is a program he wanted to look at and get some answers to his questions and see how he'd fit," Sherrill said. "I think he's done some of those things."
UPDATE Chane Behanan has scheduled a press conference to announce his college decision Tuesday morning at Bowling Green High School. Stay tuned to InsideTheVille.com for coverage of Behanan's college decision.
