The Miles Method

The Les Miles era has been great for LSU on the recruiting trail, able to consistently reel in the Southeast's top prospects each signing day. Now, the staff has taken the next step in making their reach more nationwide.

LSU’s 2011 class should prove to be as good as any that Miles has had in Baton Rouge, anchored at home by names like five-star La’el Collins and away by, well, more in-state talent, from five-star defensive tackle Anthony Johnson to four-star wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

Evidenced by consistent top-10 finishes among annual national team rankings, there is no disconnect between the Tiger staff and prospective student athletes.

Yet, new rules in college football have drastically cut back on direct contact between coaches and high school athletes, meaning programs turn to stuffing the mailbox in hopes of grabbing a prospect’s attention early in the game.

On Thursday, LSU took a step in another direction.

With the release of the LSU Football-Miles Method app, prospective student-athletes can now get a deeper look into the Tiger program via Apple. The app, made available on Sept. 16, will offer highlights, video and messages on the football team. It will also feature a stream from Miles on Twitter and Facebook.

With the release, LSU became the first collegiate program to offer content and video on the team through an iPad app.
