Terrell Lathan Profile
Lathan said of his options: “I don’t have any offers yet, but I’m guessing some will be coming in pretty soon. Lots of schools have sent stuff to me and called up to coach (Don) Shows asking about me.
“I don’t really have a leader, but LSU is one team that I really want an offer from. I am friends with (LSU commitment) Paul Turner, and some of our other teammates like Barkevious Mingo are already down there in Baton Rouge. I visited for the Ole Miss game and I got the feeling that it would be a good fit.”
Stat Tracker: After missing a few games because of illness at the start of the season, Lathan bounced back to average 2.1 tackles per game. He finished the year with 3.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. As a sophomore, Lathan had 38 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and a blocked punt.
Outlook: At 6-foot-4, 235-pounds, Lathan can be effective as a defensive end in the 4-3 or as a linebacker in the 3-4. He moves surprising well for a big body, and he has the aggression and wingspan to become disruptive when West Monroe tries to stop the run. He’s still raw, but another season spent in Don Shows’ program will have Lathan ready for college football.
Tale of the Tape: Below are a few clips of Lathan in action against Captain Shreve and Airline, where he finished with a combined four tackles, 2.5 sacks and a pass deflection.
