TSD TV: Mettenberger

With Zach Mettenberger set to enroll in the school of his choice by January, LSU could be on the verge of landing one of the nation's top arms for 2011. Go inside for a look at the four-star in action, including three games from his 2010 season.

Zach Mettenberger

6-foot-5, 247-pounds

Watkinsville, Ga.

Breakdown: Mettenberger’s size and arm strength make him the ideal pro-style quarterback for offensive coordinator Gary Crowton.

He’s listed on the Butler Community College roster at 6-foot-5, 247-pounds, but he’s now dropped into the 230-range.

He can make all the throws, with good touch when finding holes in zones and going over the top in man coverage. His size allows him to see the field clearly, and seldom are defensive linemen able to get their hands on his passes.

In high school he often scrambled when protection broke down, but coaches are impressed with how much he’s improved his pocket presence between time at Georgia and Butler CC. He has great patience, and when he rolls out he becomes very effective going to his right.

Go below for highlights from his 2010 season at Butler Community College as well as footage from his senior season at Oconee County High in Watkinsville, Ga.
