Also in the spotlight in Saturday's scrimmage will be the continuing saga of offensive stars Justin Vincent and Michael Clayton taking part in defensive drills. Saban will also be looking for further maturation of his second team players and reserves as the substitutes did not fare so well in last weekend's walk through.
Plus the development of the safety position as well as the battle for starting jobs at linebacker will continue as Saban and his defensive staff are still in search of a replacement for Bradie James at middle linebacker.
Future Tiger kicker Chris Jackson, a John Curtis Christian senior, stopped by practice Friday afternoon where he and his parents chatted briefly with assistant coach Derek Dooley and stayed for the full practice session.
The Tigers will have practice sessions on Monday and Wednesday of next week before wrapping up the spring drills with the annual Spring Game at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 11 in Tiger Stadium.
Next week's Spring Game will precede the LSU-Ole Miss baseball game, which starts at 7 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.
Tickets for the spring game are currently on sale in the LSU Athletic Ticket Office for $5. Fans can also purchase a printable ticket on the Internet at www.LSUsports.net for a reduced rate of $2.50.
