On working out before arriving to campus… “I had gotten onto (strength and conditioning coach) Moffitt’s workout plan, and it was definitely a lot different than what I was used to. It wasn’t easy. I definitely started to shed some pounds, and there will be more of that this summer.”

On living on campus… “I am set to be with Jonah Austin and La’el Collins, so we will have the big boys staying together. D.J. Welter and Ego Ferguson are across the hall, so we are also around some of the older guys. Living in the apartments with everyone is something I am definitely excited about. They say it’s a cool team bonding experience.”

Jersey number… “I am hoping to one day end up in No. 56, because of the Pouncey brothers at Florida. I am a big fan of those guys. I went to the Sugar Bowl one year and loved how they dominated. Those are two guys that I aspire to be like. And they became first round picks, and that’s my goal.”

When LSU got interested… “Things picked up for me right when the evaluation period started and coaches began to come through the high school. Coach Frank (Wilson) had gotten hold of my junior film and was really impressed, so he came out right away to see me work out in person. That’s about when the offer happened.”

Why LSU… “For one, it’s close to home. That was important to my family. Then you think about LSU and where they rank among other college teams, and it’s a deal that you just can’t pass up. And the coaches truly care about you. That’s one thing that stood out even after I committed.”

A strong relationship with Frank Wilson… “Coach Frank recruits all the New Orleans area, but he always made me feel like we were as close as anyone he would talk to. He’s one of those people who makes you like him because of his personality. He interacts with everyone, and you may not like what he says, but you know it’s true. Not all coaches are like that.”

If not LSU… “I liked Florida and Oklahoma, to be honest. I would have set up more trips and taken some tours had LSU not come around with a scholarship. But those are two teams that I thought hard about.”

On being part of “The Fam”… “That really means a lot to me, because it is all of us Louisiana boys coming together as one. You don’t often see people do that in life. For it to happen the way it did with all this talent, it’s awesome.”

Best prospect in the class… “I can’t lie, I think the best person in this class is Odell Beckham. I think he’s amazing wherever he lines up at. He’s just a beast. People might be surprised.”

Prospect that he’s closest with…Terrance Magee. Our parents got close over the past year, and then we started chilling. The best way to put it is that we have the same morals. And we are very laid back and we don’t talk much. We just clicked.”

Favorite movie… “I don’t like sentimental movies. I want something that will make me laugh. Seriously Funny with Kevin Hart is one of my favorites.”

Favorite NFL Team… “The Pittsburgh Steelers. The Saints are the home team, but I grew up a Steelers fan. Jerome Bettis was a beast. I always liked watching him run.”

Favorite college growing up… “Well, I really never liked LSU (laughing). I liked Alabama a lot. But I got to Alabama during my recruitment, and I really didn’t like the visit. Coach Burns offered me a couple days after LSU did. They wanted me as a nose tackle. He’s from St. Aug and he thought he had me in the bag. But my experiences at LSU were much better, so it wasn’t a hard decision to make.”

Hottest Celebrity… “Stacy Dash.”

Nickname… “I have a few different ones, but most people just call me T.”
