Last September, LSU took a step into unknown territory.
Not on the football field, but on the recruiting trail.
With the release of the Miles Method, LSU became the first collegiate program to offer content and video on the team through an iPad application. The standard had been set, and over the past year other programs began to test their hand in the world of mobile technology.
The first edition offered highlights, video and messages on the LSU football team. And while the experience can be enjoyed – for free – by all fans, the app is geared towards recruiting potential student-athletes into the program.
Keeping pace with the times, the app also featured a stream from Les Miles on Twitter and Facebook, as well as content streamed from the team’s YouTube channel.
Now comes the second phase, and once more LSU has set the curve.
The update, version 1.01, includes sections ranging from The Coach to The Program, highlighting everything from Miles and his football philosophies to the accomplishments of LSU teams of the past. One section, titled The Experience, allows users to view the college lifestyle through the student-athlete’s vantage point.
