CoachSpeak: Broussard on Louis

LSU commitment Lamar Louis spent last year at Teurlings' Catholic. The talented linebacker is back home at Breaux Bridge High School. According to Breaux Bridge head football coach, Paul Broussard, in many ways it is like Louis never left the program.

"He brings a lot to our team," said Broussard. "He is just a good athlete on both sides of the ball.

"He's the kind of guy that his motor runs full speed all of the time. He never takes a play off. He never has any slow steps. Everything he does is full speed."

Having Lamar back in the fold has been a great thing for Breaux Bridge football. Even while he was away he was still one of the guys.

"They all remained good friends even when he had left," said Broussard. "They were still in touch with each other and still very good friends.

"It's just been excellent having him back."

On the high school level, Louis excels on both sides of the ball. When he arrives in Baton Rouge, Lamar could wind up at a number of positions.

"I think he's going to play running back or linebacker," explained Broussard. "I think it just depends on what they choose to do. I believe he can excel at either one.

"I think it's just going to depend on what they need as a team because he can play wherever they need him to."
