Randy Rosetta

Northwestern State (1-0) at LSU (1-0): After overcoming distractions one week, LSU has to show it can overcome a bit of disinterest in the home opener. Too much talent = an easy win…LSU 49, Northwestern State 0

Mississippi State (1-0) at Auburn (1-0): A big test for both teams to see who’s for real and could emerge as a fly in the ointment to the top three in the SEC West Division. The Bulldogs have more talent for the first time in a while…State 24, Auburn 21

South Carolina (1-0) at Georgia (1-0): There’s always plenty of drama in this game and this year the Bulldogs supply most of it because of the heat under Mark Richt’s seat. Painted into the corner, UGa comes out biting…Georgia 31, South Carolina 28

Alabama (1-0) at Penn State (1-0): This is the first of a bunch of thorny road tests for the Crimson Tide this season and the first it passes – but barely…Alabama 20, Penn State 13

Cincinnati (1-0) at Tennessee (1-0): For the Volunteers, this game sets up as a bunch of ‘first times since’ categories. Tennessee hasn’t made a statement in a few years, but it does this week…Tennessee 35, Cincinnati 21

Central Michigan (0-1) at Kentucky (1-0): The Wildcats will need to muster a few more than 14 points against the Chippewas to survive another scare against a directional school…Kentucky 27, Central Michigan 17

Southern Illinois (1-0) at Ole Miss (0-1): The Rebels were on their way to a nice win last week against BYU and then the fourth quarter happened. Should be plenty of motivation to finish stronger vs. the Salukis…Ole Miss 41, Southern Illinois 20

UAB (0-0) at Florida (1-0): The Gators blaze past another overwhelmed opponent on the mid-major tune-up tour leading up to a five-game stretch of SEC tests that will define their season…Florida 48, UAB 10

New Mexico (0-1) at Arkansas (1-0): In the wild, Lobos would trump Razorbacks. This isn’t the wild, though…Arkansas 45, New Mexico 13

Connecticut (1-0) at Vanderbilt (1-0): It’s been three years since Vanderbilt won back-to-back games. It will be at least a few more weeks after the Huskies leave town…UConn 23, Vanderbilt 10

Notre Dame (0-1) at Michigan (1-0): Assuming rain doesn’t interfere and these teams get to play a full game, it should be a dogfight under the lights, which will glisten on the Golden Domers…Notre Dame 26, Michigan 20

Arizona (1-0) at Oklahoma State (1-0): Strange turn of events as the Cowboys and Wildcats meet this season after finishing the 2010 season against each other in the Alamo Bowl. Pokes produce a similar result…Oklahoma State 38, Arizona 24

Missouri (1-0) at Arizona State (1-0): The Tigers trudged through an uninspiring victory at home last week against Miami (Ohio) and won’t fare nearly as well against a Sun Devils’ team poised to be a Pac-12 surprise this season…ASU 30, Missouri 27

Iowa (1-0) at Iowa State (1-0): Somebody has to win the Cy-Hawk Trophy, don’t they? This won’t be a great year in the corn state and this game will typify that…Iowa 17, Iowa State 14

Rutgers (1-0) at North Carolina (1-0): This is an intriguing game between two teams wandering between perennial contender status and rollercoaster program stigma. It’s the Tar Heels who take a step in the right direction…North Carolina 24, Rutgers 17

Virginia Tech (1-0) at East Carolina (0-1): Virginia Tech scored 66 points last week and East Carolina allowed 56. That’s not real good math for the Pirates…Virginia Tech 48, East Carolina 28

Nevada (0-0) at Oregon (0-1): The Wolf Pack will be excited to get their season and the post-Colin Kaepernick started. Until the Ducks come out with a chip on their shoulders, that is…Oregon 52, Nevada 21

BYU (1-0) at Texas (1-0): If Texas is going to truly bounce back this season, beating BYU at home is an absolute must. The Longhorns play with a purpose…Texas 41, BYU 28

Utah (1-0) at Southern Cal (1-0): Trojans got a serious scare from Minnesota last week and face a tougher foe this week in the Utes, who make their Pac-12 debut at The Coliseum. No such problems for Troy this week…USC 35, Utah 20

Shea Dixon

Cincinnati (1-0) at Tennessee (1-0): This one will be decided by less than a touchdown, but the Volunteers use home-field advantage to squeak out the win…Tennessee 37, Cincinnati 35

Central Michigan (0-1) at Kentucky (1-0): The Wildcats will get up by a couple of scores and never look back…Kentucky 35, Central Michigan 13

Southern Illinois (1-0) at Ole Miss (0-1): This isn’t Jacksonville State. At least the Rebels hope not…Ole Miss 37, Southern Illinois 14

UAB (0-0) at Florida (1-0): This one will stay close for a quarter, then the Gators will pull away with speed…Florida 42, UAB 10
