O.P. Walker (1-1) vs. West St. John (3-1)
With a blossoming senior quarterback in Devin Powell
and big men up front like Marques Cheeks
, the Chargers are the favorites. Powell will be tested against LSU linebacker commitment Ronnie Feist
, and West St. John's offense will look to steer clear of LSU cornerback commitment Dwayne Thomas
. Tiger fans, tune in.
It's been an odd opening month for O. Perry Walker, which hasn't played a game since Sept. 10.
Big chance for the Wildcats
Dutchtown (4-0) vs. Destrehan (2-2)
If you're in the area, get out and see Landon Collins
run wild. Collins is the No. 2-ranked safety prospect in the country, but Dutchtown coach Benny Saia also has the five-star prospect playing running back – and success has followed. West Jefferson jumped on Destrehan early last week, but expect a big game from wide receiver Rickey Jefferson
as the Wildcats stay in the mix deep into the second half.
Collins rushed for 179 yards and four touchdowns on seven carries in a 43-22 win over Zachary last week.
