Parkview OL commits to LSU

Florida made a scholarship offer to Parkview Baptist offensive lineman Max Holmes last Thursday - the same day LSU head coach Nick Saban was on campus.

The Tigers' head coach wanted to make sure the Gators didn't steal a prospect from his backyard and extended an offer to Holmes today, and Holmes did not take long to accept it.

Holmes, who also had offers on the table fromm Michigan State and Indiana, gave his pledge to the Tigers today. The Class 3A honorable mention all-state lineman made several on-campus visits earlier this year at schools that have been recruiting him with sincere interest, including Alabama and Mississippi State.

Parvkiew Baptist advanced to the state quarterfinals last season with the help of a steady running game that took advantage of Holmes' ability. He measured 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds at the end of his junior season and appears to have the frame to hold more healthy size as a college player.
