LSU's season-opening basketball game against Nicholls State at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Saturday, Nov. 12, will be open to the public free of charge.

The game is part of the second basketball-football doubleheader on the LSU campus as the Tigers will have their homecoming football game with Western Kentucky that same day.

All season-ticket holders will receive a free ticket to the game for their usual reserved seat that they will have all season for the basketball game and other seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on game day.

The game time is tentatively set for noon on Nov. 12 but could be altered depending on the television time for the Western Kentucky football game, which will be announced by the league on Oct. 31.

While basketball parking passes will not be in effect for this one game, there will be a shuttle system for fans wishing to attend the game from the parking lots off of Skip Bertman Drive and River Road. That information will be forthcoming once the official game time of both football and basketball has been finalized.

Season tickets for the 2011-12 men's basketball season remain on sale to the general public at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office in the Athletics Administration Building and online at Season ticket prices start at $100 for the upcoming season, including a Jan. 28 date with Kentucky. Outside the league the Tigers will play Marquette, Boise State, South Alabama and Virginia at home.
