Fans will have a chance to get a first-hand look at the 2011-12 LSU women's basketball team when the 21st-ranked Lady Tigers host Xavier of Louisiana in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
LSU will take the floor for the first time under new coach Nikki Caldwell.
"This group is ready to play and this gives us a chance to prepare for the season against an opponent," Caldwell said. "We are looking for our team to execute the game plan on both sides of the floor and be aggressive offensively. We've got a lot of combinations to look at and a lot of versatility and depth on this team. We are excited to play a game in front of our fans."
Tickets cost $10 for lower and prime middle seating, $8 for middle seating, $6 for adult general admission and $3 for youth general admission. Admission for LSU students is free.
Two tickets to this weekend's LSU-Alabama football game will be given away at halftime. Fans must wear their "most spirited" LSU purple-and-gold gear to the game to qualify for the tickets. A select few of those fans will be chosen to participate in a halftime dance-off promotion where one fan will then be selected as the winner for the ultimate prize.
The Lady Tigers open the season on Nov. 14 at Wichita State before returning home to face No. 10 Georgetown on Nov. 16.
