For the second time this season, the LSU women face a top-25 team as the 20th-ranked Lady Tigers seek a road victory at No. 18 Ohio State at 3 p.m. Sunday in Value City Arena.
The Big Ten Network will broadcast the game and will be streamed online at www.BTN2Go.com.
LSU (3-2) beat No. 14 Georgetown in the home opener on Nov. 16. The Lady Tigers suffered their first home loss of the year on Tuesday, dropping a 44-43 decision to Northwestern. Sunday's game will be the last for LSU until Dec. 11 when they Lady Tigers return from finals.
Ohio State (4-0) features Big Ten Co-Preseason Player of the Year Samantha Prahalis, who is averaging 17.5 points and 6.5 assists per game. Junior guard Tayler Hill is tops on the team with 18.8 points per contest. Prahalis and Hill are two of three returning starters from last year's Buckeyes squad that reached the NCAA Sweet 16 under coach Jim Foster.
Lady Tigers forward LaSondra Barrett leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 12.6 points and 5.6 boards per game. Barrett has scored in double figures in all five games this season and stands just one rebound away from reaching 600 for her career. Jeanne Kenney is LSU's leader in assists with 4.4 per game, and she is tied for second in scoring with 6.8 points per contest.
This is the seventh meeting between LSU and Ohio State, with the Lady Tigers holding a 4-2 advantage. Last season, the Buckeyes escaped with a 59-55 win in Baton Rouge as LSU nearly rallied from a nine-point deficit.
In the last meeting in Columbus, then third-ranked LSU cruised to a 64-48 victory over the fourth-ranked Buckeyes on Dec. 15, 2005. Sylvia Fowles had 25 points and 16 rebounds, while National Player of the Year Seimone Augustus added 21 points.
LSU continues to lead the SEC in scoring defense, allowing only 46.6 points per game. Opponents are shooting just 29.6 percent against the Lady Tigers and LSU is out-rebounding its opponents by a margin of 3.4.
