ORLANDO, Fla. – Former LSU stars Brandon Bass and Glen Davis will reportedly be traded for each other as NCA teams launch belated training camps in preparation of the truncated 2011-12 season.
Bass' agent, Tony Dutt, said a deal is being finalized that will send his client to Boston for Davis.
Entering his seventh season after earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors in 2004 and the league's Player of the Year award in 2005, Bass averaged a career-high 11.2 points and 5.2 rebounds last year in his second season with the Magic. He started 51 of the 76 games he appeared in.
Davis, who followed Bass as the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2005 and then Player of the Year in 2006 when he helped lead the Tigers to the Final Four, has played all four years of his career with Boston and averaged 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds last season, starting 13 of 78 games.
