Turner tabbed SEC Player of the Week

LSU sophomore keyed Tigers' win against 10th-ranked Marquette.

LSU sophomore Ralston Turner was named the SEC?Player of the Week Monday after averaging 15 points, 4.5 rebounds and a steal in wins over 10th-ranked Marquette and at North Texas.

Turner had one of the biggest games of his LSU career in win over Marquette, notching a career-best 22 buoyed by 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. He played a solid game at North Texas with 8 points as LSU won its sixth straight game and held an opponent under 60 for the sixth game in a row in a 67-58 triumph.

With the strong week, Turner is averaging 10.7 points a game and upped his 3-point shooting accuracy to 36.1% (22 of 61).

The Tigers (8-3) are back in action Thursday when Grambling visits the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
