After producing the finest season of her career, LSU senior forward LaSondra Barrett was one of five players named to the Associated Press All-SEC First Team, which was revealed on Tuesday.
Barrett was joined on the squad by Kentucky's A'dia Mathies, Tennessee's Glory Johnson and Shekinna Stricklen and Vanderbilt's Christina Foggie. Both Mathies and Johnson were unanimous selections.
Barrett, who was named to the league coaches' All-SEC First Team last week, leads the Lady Tigers in scoring and rebounding with 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. The 12th all-time leading scorer in LSU history, Barrett produced 24 double-figure games, six double-doubles and three games of 20-plus points.
Barrett is one of the few players in the nation who has played all five positions on the floor at some point this season. No player in the SEC has made (155) or attempted (209) more free throws than Barrett has this season.
Mathies was named SEC Player of the Year, while Kentucky head coach Matthew Mitchell was the Coach of the Year. Wildcats' freshman Bria Goss picked up Newcomer of the Year honors.
Barrett and the Lady Tigers host an NCAA Tournament on Regional Sunday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. No. 5 seed LSU takes on No. 12 seed San Diego State in the first round at approximately 6:30 p.m.
