LSU assistant basketball coach Nick Robinson is poised to be named the new head coach at Southern Utah, according to the Salt Lake City Tribune.
The 32-year-old Robinson played for Trent Johnson at Stanford and has been on his staff for three seasons each with the Tigers and Cardinal.
During his playing career at Stanford, Robinson played on Stanford teams that made four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and climbed to No. 1 in the polls in 2003-04. He was a Cardinal captain in his last two seasons and was 92-34 in his playing career. He was also with Johnson when the Cardinal posted a 28-7 record in 2007-08 and advanced to the Sweet 16.
