In his debut with Hinds last fall, Leslie led the team with had 28 catches for 530 yards and 10 touchdowns.
"I have been hearing from a lot of schools now, and some of them are in the SEC, and I like that," Leslie said.
In late February, Leslie heard from LSU for the first time.
"I talked with Coach (Frank) Wilson and he told me LSU was ready to offer, and I was pumped up," Leslie said. "That offer was big for me and I am pretty interested. After they hit me up and offered, I've been in touch."

Leslie spoke with LSU coach Les Miles on Wednesday night, and Leslie confirmed his plans to visit the campus, along with two fellow wide receivers from Hinds, for the spring game on Saturday.
"I am definitely looking forward to the visit," Leslie said. "I came down to campus for the first time about a month ago for a track meet. I thought the place was big and really nice.
"It was definitely something I could get used to."
What did Leslie's conversation with Miles reveal?
"(Miles) was just telling me that they really need me," Leslie said. "He said they want receivers and I am the top guy on their board.
"(Miles) said that he really likes what he has seen on film, and he wants me to get there and be on the field next year."
Headed into his first visit to LSU, Leslie didn't rule out the possibility of a commitment, though he said there is no current time frame for his decision or any outright leader.
"I really can't say what I would do if they asked me to commit," Leslie said. "It's however it goes.
"It is still wide open right now. But headed into the visit, I am big on (LSU)."
