LSU announces Johnson's resignation

School confirms what the coach told on Saturday.

LSU has released a statement on Trent Johnson's departure as the Tigers' coach for the same job at TCU.

Johnson confirmed his exit on Saturday to and has since revealed that he was offered an incentive-laden contract from TCU worth up to $2.3 million a year -- $1 million more than his final contract at LSU was worth.

Another factor that weighed into Johnson's decision was his mother's detoriating health. She recently moved from Seattle after a major health scare and Johnson has sought the best possible health care he could find, which is more readily available in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
