Kenner forward considers options

Kenner-Bonnabel small forward Shane Foster has made a name for himself as a high school player and a summer amateur standout.

Here is a list of schools he is actively considering.

Shane Foster had a big hand in the success of the New Orleans Jazz at the Tournament of Champions in May. The small forward is ultra-athletic and can play at the rim, so you can understand the interest from the colleges.

Foster's summer plans include a stop at adidas ABCD Camp and the Big Time with the Jazz. After that he will spend the rest of his free time working out and working on his game.

"The best part of my game is probably defense," Foster said. "I have that mentality where I could just lock somebody and shut him down."

Marquette, Kansas, Florida, Vanderbilt, Georgia and LSU like the sound of that. So do Illinois and Tulane. While we can't be certain who has offered at this point, you can be sure that those schools will continue to evaluate Foster in the coming weeks.

Unlike many of his counterparts in his class, Foster is not ready to decide.

"Actually, I'm not close at all. Right now I'm just waiting and I'll take a couple of visits when school starts."

Foster already been to LSU unofficially and he might not need an official visit to the school. He said he would like to visit Kansas, Marquette, Florida, Vanderbilt and maybe Georgia, but he's open to suggestions. "I want to go somewhere where I can go in my first year and make a good impact. I want playing time if I can't start. I want to get better so I can make a push for the league (NBA)."
