SEC tabs Jones the Player of the Week

Tigers' 2B was 7-for-14 in four games and drove in 7 runs during weekend series at Ole Miss.

LSU sophomore second baseman JaCoby Jones has been named the SEC Player of the Week.

Jones led the Tigers to three wins in four games last week, batting .500 (7-for-14) with one double, one home run, 7 RBIs, three runs scored and one stolen base. He keyed LSU's 12-3 win on Sunday with a career-best 5 RBIs, including a 2-run double that got the Tigers on the scoreboard and 3-run home run to cap a 5-run sixth inning that put the game away.

Last week's big week allowed Jones to up his season average to .265. He's third on the team with 37 runs and leads the Tigers with 10 stolen bases.
