Top-seeded LSU will tangle with Mississippi State in a second-round game on Wednesday after the Bulldogs' stellar pitching staff stymied Arkansas in a 9-1 win Tuesday.

LAST MEETING/SERIES: The Tigers and Bulldogs opened SEC play way back in mid-March, with LSU winning the first two games 3-2 (10) and 4-3 and State storming back to take the finale 7-1. The Bulldogs lead the series 192-170-1. The teams are 7-7 in league tournament play but haven’t met in Hoover since 2005 when Mississippi State rolled LSU 9-2 in the opening round on the way to the tournament crown.
