LSU offensive tackles Chris Faulk and Alex Hurst, along with defensive tackle Bennie Logan, were three of 71 players named to the 2012 Outland Trophy Watch List on Thursday.
The Outland Trophy is awarded annually to the nation's top interior linemen, which includes offensive and defensive tackles, guards and centers. Former LSU All-American Glenn Dorsey won the Outland Trophy in 2007.
Faulk enters his second season as the starting left tackle for the Tigers. In 2011, he posted 73½ knockdowns in 768 total snaps.
Hurst is a two-year starter at right tackle for LSU who earned first-team All-SEC recognition last season. The Bartlett, Tenn., native started all 14 games and recorded 71½ knockdowns in 811 plays.
Logan will anchor the Tigers at the defensive tackle position as a starter for the second straight year. He came on strong in 2011 when he registered 57 tackles, 6½ tackles for a loss and three sacks.
The Outland Trophy winner is chosen from three finalists who are part of the FWAA All-America Team. The finalists will be selected by the FWAA All-America Committee on Nov. 19, and the trophy winner will be announced during the Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 6.
