Louisiana WR favoring two teams

Louisiana's No. 1 pure receiver prospect for 2004 is Reserve-East St. John's Reggie Joseph (6-0, 184, 4.4), and he is getting the national attention to support that claim.

Joseph has scholarship offers from LSU, Florida State, Colorado, Michigan, Auburn and Tulane, and more could be added to the mix.

"Right now, I'm mostly considering, of course hometown LSU, Florida State, Florida and Auburn," Joseph told Tiger Rag. "Michigan State was looking at me a whole lot and I'm looking forward to talking to them some more. But right now, it's probably between Florida State and LSU."

Two of Joseph's former high school teammates are him all of the information he needs concerning two schools is listing. Vegas Franklin has the scoop from Miami, and Kirston Pittman is letting him know what it is like at LSU.

"They pretty much let me make my own decisions," Joseph said with a laugh. "They're always good friends to listen to and they always give me good advice. Vegas likes it at Miami and Kirston is loving it at LSU."

Joseph has a 2.9 grade point average and he took the ACT for the first time in June.

He spent his summer fine tuning his game and working on his speed with one of the nation's best speed coaches, Tom Shaw. At the end of spring practice Joseph was running a consistent 4.5-forty but is now timing in the 4.4-range on a regular basis.

"He works out a lot of pros and it's good competition," said Joseph. "He has helped out with my route running and my explosiveness out of my routes. It's been real beneficial."
