Discussing LSU's 38-22 win over Towson on Saturday night

No. 3 LSU (5-0) outclassed Colonial Athletic Association foe Towson (2-2) Saturday night inside Death Valley, overcoming three lost fumbles to secure a 38-22 victory.

The home-standing Tigers were sloppy for the second straight week, committing 10 penalties, one more than they did at Auburn, for a combined 69 yards lost. Quarterback Zach Mettenberger was also sacked four times.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham was the game's biggest bright spot for LSU. The sophomore from Newman hauled in five passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns, all game highs.

LSU ran for 158 yards as a team and passed for 238 yards. Russell Shepard led the Bayou Bengals on the ground with one carry for a 78-yard touchdown that opened the game's scoring.

On the Towson side of the ledger, quarterback Grant Enders passed for 103 yards and a score while rushing for 86 more yards on 12 carries.
