Favorite back from LSU camp

Marlon Favorite just returned from LSU, his first camp stop of the summer, and it was a good experience for the big defensive tackle from Harvey-West Jefferson.

Aside from the football drills, Favorite got some time to relax with some of the Bayou State's top prospects for 2004 and 2005.

"It was nice," said Favorite. "We got a lot of good work in. We did a lot of technique drills and learned a lot of new stuff. They timed me in the forty, tested my vertical jump and some other things. It was cool."

"I got to chill with Early Doucet, Derron Thomas, Reggie Joseph, Ryan Perriloux and some of the guys from (O. Perry) Walker," said Favorite, who stands at 6-foot-3, 310 pounds and runs a 4.8 forty. "We play Walker this year and some of their guys were talking some trash. We did a lot of chilling."

Some of the nation's premier programs have extended a scholarship offer to Favorite, including LSU, Colorado, Nebraska, Tulane, USC, UCLA, West Virginia, Mississippi State and Oregon.

Has he narrowed that lengthy list any?

"To tell you the truth I've narrowed it down but I don't want anyone to think I'm not interested in them," said Favorite. "For the most part I'm just sitting back and weighing all my options. This is an important decision I have to make. I want to make a good decision when it's time to make my decision."
