Both Alex Bregman and Raph Rhymes are cleared to play Saturday, according to LSU coach Paul Mainieri.

The two players had a scary collision Friday against Jackson State, forcing both to be removed from the game. Rhymes suffered a lip laceration, and Mainieri said he could have returned to the game if necessary.

But Alex Bregman was taken to a hospital to be checked for facial fractures and a concussion. Bregman passed the concussion test and did not appear to have any fractures.

Both players underwent followup exams Saturday mining, and both were cleared to play. They'll return to the starting lineup tonight at 7 p.m. against Sam Houston State.
