TSD's Hunter Paniagua is live in Monroe and has the latest coverage from Robinson's announcement.
One of the biggest Alabama vs. LSU recruiting battles will come to an end on Wednesday.
2014 OT Cameron Robinson, the nation's No. 2 overall prospect, will announce his commitment to either the Tide or Tigers during a ceremony at West Monroe High School. The decision will come at approximately 12:30 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPNU. TSD's Hunter Paniagua will also be live at the Rebels' field house for Robinson's announcement.
For more than a year, Robinson has been one of the biggest targets on both schools' boards. LSU was the first to offer the 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman in early May 2012 after he camped there the previous summer. But Alabama wasn't far behind, offering him just two days later. Though just about every other school in the country has come calling, Robinson's recruitment has really boiled down to just Alabama and LSU.
Things really started to heat up with Robinson this summer. Robinson made appearances at camps in both Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge. His visit to LSU had many analysts thinking the needle was starting to point the Tigers' way after most believed Alabama held the edge.
But momentum began shifting toward Alabama again over the last couple weeks. Robinson made another trip to Tuscaloosa in early August for one of Alabama's camps. A week later, former teammate and close friend Cameron Sims made his pledge to the Tide.
A few days later, Robinson took to Twitter to announce that he'd soon be announcing his decision, which will come Wednesday. It is expected that he selects the Tide.
But all debate and speculation will finally come to an end soon, and whichever school gets the call, they'll be receiving a once-in-a-generation prospect.
