It wasn't just a big Saturday for the Tigers on the field. Both the football and basketball programs took advantage of an electric atmosphere in Tiger Stadium while hosting some of the nation's top recruits.

LSU kicked off the recruiting weekend by landing a major commitment in the 2016 class. Shortly after the Tigers wrapped up the victory against Texas A&M, 2016 DL Ed Alexander made his pledge to the coaching staff.

Alexander became the first member of LSU"s 2016 class and is already a five-star prospect in the sophomore ranks. For more on the latest addition to LSU's future, check out the update at the link below.

Alexander wasn't the only highly ranked prospect in Tiger Stadium on Saturday. The Tigers hosted three official visitors — Laurence Jones, Clifton Garrett and Frank Iheanacho — and many more unofricials, including Leonard Fournette and Malachi Dupre.

For the complete list of players confirmed in attendance for Saturday's game, check out the thread below.

But it wasn't just a big weekend for the football team. Johnny Jones and the LSU basketball team hosted some elite prospects as well. Malik Newman, the nation's No. 1 SG for 2015, was in Tiger Stadium.
