Tigers top Blazers, 86-63

In the team's final game before breaking for Christmas, LSU overcame a rebounding dilemma to defeat UAB by the final score of 86-63. Johnny O'Bryant led the way for the Tigers with a game-high 17 points.

In a performance coach Johnny Jones referred to as one of LSU's "most complete" this season, the Tigers ran past UAB 86-63 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Saturday afternoon.

Junior forward Johnny O'Bryant led the way with 17 points while senior Andre Stringer kicked in 13 points and the freshman duo of Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey had 12 points apiece.

Also pivotal for the Tigers, now 8-2 overall, was the play of freshman guard Tim Quarterman, who dished out nine of LSU's 20 assists. UAB had seven assists as a team.

LSU also forced the visiting Blazers into 30.4% shooting for the ballgame, 18.9% in the second half. The Tigers were, however, out-rebounded 48-39 by the nation's leading team on the glass.

UAB fell to 9-3 with the setback.
