Tigers offer in-state four-star

LSU dipped into Louisiana's promising 2015 class and extended an offer to four-star safety Kevin Henry. This mark's the Baton Rouge native's first SEC offer.

2015 four-star safety Kevin Henry (Baton Rouge/Central) reported Friday that he has received an offer from LSU.

This would mark Henry's first SEC offer as only schools like Louisiana Tech and ULM had previously come through with offers. Henry attended LSU's camp this past summer and took several unofficial visits for games during the season.

Henry said he spoke with LSU coaches Les Miles and Cam Cameron about the offer.

Henry is one of only a handful of junior prospects to receive a four-star rating by Scout, and he currently ranks as the No. 17 safety in the country.

He did a little bit of everything for his Central High football team. Henry spends a lot of his time in the box as a safety that assists in pass rush and stopping the run. But he's also shown ability in pass coverage, and often plays as a corner as well.

Henry played a large part in leading Central to a 9-1 regular season record and a quarterfinal appearance in the Class 5A playoffs.
