Gage originally planned to visit campus the final weekend before Signing Day, but the LSU coaches encouraged him to move the visit up a week. Gage does not presently have an offer, but he's high on the list of prospects that could land a spot in the class before it's all over.
Gage first emerged on LSU's radar this summer after a strong performance at the July camp and 7-on-7 tournament. LSU DB coach Corey Raymond really likes Gage for his secondary, and he may very well be a Tiger when it's all done.
Tulane has been Gage's biggest suitor at this point, but a LSU offer would definitely shake things up. Look for things to really heat up between Gage and the Tigers this weekend during his official visit.
All reports on Carter's visit continue to be positive, and LSU is very much a player in his recruitment down the final stretch. This visit from Miles should go a long way in helping LSU continue to build that relationship and could help propel the Tigers even higher up his board.
Georgia remains the the favorite with Florida and Florida State still in the hunt. Those three schools will have coaches present for Carter's basketball game Tuesday night.
LSU still has a long way to go if it wants to land Carter on Signing Day, and this in-home with Miles will go a long way for the Tigers' chances.
TCU commit Emanuel Porter's official visit to LSU this weekend is still on, according to Scout's Jeremy Clark, publisher of HornedFlogBlitz.com. The four-star WR flipped to the Horned Frogs last week from Texas after WR coach Darrell Wyatt was not retained by Charlie Strong. Though the Longhorns were still trying to keep him, Porter opted to switch back to the school he originally committed to.
That being said, LSU is still in hot pursuit and managed to get him to schedule an official visit for Jan. 24 before he flipped to TCU. It may be a long shot for LSU to try and flip him again, but it does appear they'll at least get a chance this weekend.
Grimes has already reached out to a new target in four-star prospect Damian Prince from Maryland. Grimes has been recruiting Prince for quite some time and is now working to get him on an official visit to LSU.
Prince has a top three of South Carolina, Maryland and Florida. He visited the Gamecocks this past weekend and has a trip scheduled for Jan. 31 to see the Gators. He's already visited Maryland and Florida State.
LSU is contention to get that final visit along with Auburn and Penn State. The Tigers will try to lock in that trip before the cycle comes to an end.
