Grimes named OL coach, run game coordinator

LSU officially named Jeff Grimes as the new offensive line coach and run game coordinator on Wednesday. The former Virginia Tech and Auburn assistant is the newest addition to the LSU coaching staff.

LSU announced Jeff Grimes as the Tigers' new offensive line coach and run game coordinator in a press release Wednesday.

TSD reported last week that Grimes would be the new LSU assistant, and he started helping in the Tigers' recruiting efforts this past weekend. He brings a proven track record of recruiting in the SEC and has developed several players into NFL linemen.

"Jeff comes to our staff with great experience as a coach who is very familiar with the SEC," Les Miles said in the release. "He helped Auburn win a national title in 2010 and has been part of some very successful programs. He's a tremendous technician and will do a great job teaching our offensive line. He has a track record of putting guys in the NFL and producing outstanding offensive linemen. He's a great addition to the staff and I'm looking forward to working with him for many years."
