The two had been committed to Texas for almost 10 months before dropping that pledge on Tuesday following a visit to Baton Rouge this past weekend. Sione, a 2014 DE, officially signed his National Letter of Intent, and Maea, a 2015 OG, will follow suit next year.
Persistence paid off for the Tigers as LSU continued recruiting the Teuhemas throughout their commitment to Texas. LSU took advantage of the coaching turnover in Austin and convinced them to give LSU a look over the weekend.
The visit was a home run and convinced the brothers to don the purple and gold.
Sione ranks as a four-star OLB, but he will be a DE at LSU. A long, lean pass rusher, Sione has tremendous speed rushing off the edge. His brother Maea is a five-star OG for the 2015 class and is one of the more promising underclassmen in the country.
