2015 DE Isaiah Washington commits to LSU

LSU has reeled in its first commitment from the "Boys from the Boot" event. Edna Karr DE Isaiah Washington made his pledge to the Tigers to become the seventh commit in the 2015 class.

2015 DE Isaiah Washington (Edna Karr) committed to LSU on Saturday at the annual "Boys from the Boot" junior day.

Washington didn't have an offer entering the visit, but he received one Saturday and made his commitment before leaving the facility. Washington rates as a three-star prospect, and is currently ranked No. 29 in the state.

"I kept thinking about it," Washington told Scout's Mike Coppage. "I talked with Coach Frank (Wilson) when I was leaving, and he asked if I was ready to become a Tiger. I could have easily said no but I said, 'Yeah!'

"I'm feeling good," he said, "like it's the right decision. I'm comfortable."

He's a tall long pass rusher that measures about 6-foot-5, 250 pounds. He entered the starting lineup as a junior this past season, playing opposite Florida signee Gerald Willis.

Prior to committing, Washington had offers from schools like Tennessee, Oklahoma State, TCU and Kansas State among others.

He marks the seventh commit in the Tigers' 2015 class, and is the first defensive lineman on board. He's the third commit in the state, joining S Kevin Henry and RB Nicholas Brossette in the class.

Washington had a message that should be good news to LSU fans.

"The Boot getting tied up," he said. "They're not getting any more prospects out of the state."
