Ferguson marks the second pledge of the day for the Tigers, as fullback David Ducre committed earlier this morning. LSU's been hot on the recruiting trail since this past weekend's "Boys from the Boot" as the Tigers have added four commits since Saturday.
Ferguson's a four-star prospect, ranked as the No. 20 receiver in the country. He received his offer this past weekend and didn't wait long to pull the trigger.
He was a standout at camp this past summer, clocking a 4.5-second 40-yard dash time. At 6-foot-5, 210 pounds, Ferguson has exceptional height for a pass-catcher, and even though he has enough size to be a tight end, LSU will take him as a wide receiver.
Ferguson had 34 receptions for 605 yards and six touchdowns in his junior season. He also had 13 rushing attempts for 190 yards and another three scores.
Ferguson chose the home-state Tigers over more than a dozen offers from other programs. Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kansas State and Miami were just some of the schools that had offered him.
Throughout his recruitment though, Ferguson has said LSU is his dream school and staying close to home would be important for him. That proved true as Ferguson didn't waste much time to officially become a Tiger.
