Mickey's dad: Still no decision

With less than a week to go until the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NBA Draft, LSU freshman Jordan Mickey is still undecided according to his father. TSD's Ben Love has more inside.

According to his father, LSU freshman forward Jordan Mickey is still undecided on whether or not he'll return for his sophomore season in Baton Rouge.

Mickey and all other underclassmen have until Sunday, April 27, to declare for the 2014 NBA Draft.

"Still haven't made any decision as of yet," James Wright Sr. informed TSD. "Right now we're just waiting for additional information. Coach [Johnny] Jones is quite aware of everything we're doing. I've kept him close to what we're doing. Once again everyone is just waiting for us to make a final decision."

Wright, keenly aware of the approaching deadline, anticipates an announcement on his son's future by the end of the week. "I would hope so," he said. "We're trying to wrap this up ASAP."

One thing Wright also cleared up was the common misperception that he met with Jones and Mickey on April 9 while in town for LSU Pro Day, which featured another of Wright's sons, football receiver James Wright Jr., who is Mickey's step brother.

"How did the meeting go with Coach Jones and Jordan," Wright asked, repeating the question originally posed to him. "I'm assuming fine. I wasn't there myself. I haven't heard anything."

Mickey averaged 12.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.1 blocks in his debut season at LSU, making the Freshman All-SEC team while also earning second-team All-SEC honors.
