Sorting through LSU's future schedules

The SEC has announced future football rotation schedules for all 14 member programs. TSD keeps you up to speed on where the Tigers will play and when through the 2025 season.

On Monday afternoon the SEC announced future football rotation schedules for all 14 of its programs, most notably which cross-division opponents each team will play as well as when and where through the 2025 season.

Also included is a confirmation of each team's seven permanent opponents and where they'll play over the next 12 falls.

Here's a quick breakdown of what it all means for LSU.

- The Tigers will play at South Carolina in 2015, which will be the programs' first meeting in Columbia since 2008 (a 24-17 LSU victory). On paper that will be the toughest matchup LSU has in this rotating game until hosting Georgia in 2018.

- Speaking of those Dawgs, LSU won't travel between the hedges again until 2025, the final year of the current 12-year scheduling plan. The two played in Athens this September, combining for a fast-paced 44-41 thriller which fell in favor of the home team. Hope you enjoyed it as that scene won't be recreated for another 11 years.

- Another small bummer: LSU won't get to see the home field of one of the conference's newest teams, Missouri, until the fall of 2023. By that point the Columbia-based Tigers will have been in the SEC for 12 seasons. It is a minor consolation that the Bayou Bengals will host Mizzou in Baton Rouge in 2016.

- Updating the permanent opponents situation, LSU will host Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State in 2014. The Tigers will travel to Arkansas, Auburn, Texas A&M and Florida this fall as well. Those sites will alternate home and away through 2025.

- Summing up the above: LSU has one more built-in road game than home game in the SEC each even-numbered year and vice-versa in odd-numbered years. However, to even things out, LSU's rotating game in even-numbered years will be at home and then on on the road for odd-numbered years.
