Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic rising junior defensive end Shane Simmons and offensive tackle J.P. Urquidez are two of the top prospects in the 2016 class, and they also happen to be best friends.
Simmons and Uriquidez, who is transferring from Copper Cove (Texas) to DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.), will team up on the field in the fall, but they are already teaming up for a series of unofficial visits this summer.
Urquidez and Simmons kicked off their most recent trip with a stop at Texas A&M, where Simmons picked up an offer from the Aggies. On Monday, the high-profile pair visited LSU and this time it was Urquidez who picked up the offer.
"It was great, I loved it there," said Uriquidez, who also holds offers from Texas, Baylor, Maryland, and Wisconsin among others. "It is a huge honor for me."
After LSU, Simmons and Urquidez plan to visit Auburn, Alabama, and Clemson, before finishing up their road trip back at their hometown school, Maryland.
