---------------------------

---Alex Bregman kicked off his second summer with Team USA this past week, starting all four games in the cleanup spot. He also started in three different positions, playing two games at his native short stop, but also starting a game each at third base and second base. Batting fourth has paid off for Bregman and Team USA, as he's already driven in six runs, including a 3-RBI effort in the summer opener.

---Mark Laird and Andrew Stevenson had much better weeks at the plate. After starting out their summers hitting below .200, each LSU outfielder batter better than .345 over the last seven days, an encouraging sign for the two rising juniors. Another positive from the LSU perspective is that duo has combined for seven stolen bases this season. Despite that elite speed, neither Laird nor Stevenson have had much impact in that department through their careers, but if they can add that dimension to their game, they'll be all the more dangerous for LSU's offense in 2015.

---Conner Hale's also been a utility man of sorts this summer. He started games this week at first base, second base and third base, and that versatility will suit LSU well next season. The coaches will give him a look at all three positions in the fall as they sort out the best defensive arrangements.

---Jared Foster and Kade Scivicque made their debuts in the Northwoods League this week. Foster was a late addition to the Battle Creek roster after he wasn't selected in the MLB Draft. Though Scivicque didn't hit for a particularly high average in his first week of action, he did show that pop in his bat with three extra base hits.
