---------------------------

---LSU's hitters in the Cape Cod League are really starting to come alive about a month into the summer. Six of the seven position players in the Cape (Robertson, Chinea, Laird, Stevenson, Hale and Zardon) are all hitting better than .300.

Stevenson in particular has hit safely in 20 of his last 21 games. Laird has reached base in 12 straight games, and Hale currently has a nine-game hitting streak.

---Stevenson and Laird continue to run wild on the base paths. Both players have 14 stolen bases this summer, and they're tied atop that category in the Cape. Despite their big-time speed, stolen bases has been missing from both players' games during their LSU careers. If they can add that in 2015, they'll be two of the more dangerous offensive weapons in the SEC.

---Alex Bregman and the rest of the Collegiate National Team are heading abroad for a four-team tournament in the Netherlands. Starting this weekend, they'll battle Chinese Taipei, Japan and the Dutch for some international bragging rights.

The USCNT won three games and drew two in a five-game series against Chinese Taipei earlier this summer, and the Americans also won two of three in a series against the Japanese.

---Jared Poché has completed his workload in the Cape this summer and is back in Louisiana to rest his arm. He finished with a 2.70 ERA in 20 innings pitched with 19 strikeouts compared to just five walks.

---Alden Cartwright's had a near-perfect start to his stint in the Northwoods League. Delayed because of a minor injury, Cartwright has yet to surrender a run in four appearances this summer. In his three outings this week, he didn't allow a base runner in six total innings, striking out eight.

---Conner Hale and Kade Scivicque continue battling for the summer home crown. Each player homered this week to bring their total to three apiece, leading all LSU hitters this summer.
