Top Performing LSU Recruits

The top statistical performances from LSU's commits and recruits after a busy day of high school football.

LSU’s commits and top recruits showed out Friday as high school football across the country gets into full swing. Here are some of the top performances:

RB commit Derrius Guice turned in an impressive display in a decisive victory against Baton Rouge-area rival Parkview Baptist. Guice racked up 134 yards rushing with three touchdowns plus 79 more yards receiving and another score. The Bears rolled to a 55-25 victory.

Another local RB commit had a big day as well. U-High’s Nicholas Brossette totaled 150 yards rushing and his two-point conversion late in the game gave the Cubs a one-point victory against Teurlings Catholic. Fellow commit Dylan Moses ran in the touchdown to set up Brossette’s game-winning conversion.

Some Tiger commits in the Lone Star State had big games as well.

2016 WR commit Dee Anderson reeled in nine catches for 183 yards and four touchdowns in a 60-7 rout of Wylie. Cedar Hill QB Justin McMillan, a 2015 commit, completed 9-of-10 passes for 286 yards and four touchdowns for a 48-30 victory against Bowie.

Another LSU QB commit, Feleipe Franks, tossed four touchdowns down in Florida, but his Wakulla team fell short in an overtime loss. Another LSU QB target, Shea Patterson threw for 263 yards, ran for 99 and scored four touchdowns in a big victory Thursday.

Louisiana’s top prospect in the 2015 class, Tyron Johnson, had a big day for Warren Easton as they held off a late charge by St. Amant. Johnson reeled in eight catches for 192 yards and three touchdowns. His teammate and fellow LSU target Clyde Leflore, also eclipsed the 100-yard mark with four catches that totaled 105 yards receiving. A goal line stand late in the fourth quarter secured the 40-32 victory as Warren Easton totaled 619 yards of offense.

LSU DB target Deshawn Raymond had an interception in a 34-14 victory for East Jefferson against Higgins. DB commit Xavier Lewis accounted for 79 yards of offense, playing QB for East St. John, in a 39-0 loss to Rummel.

The Patterson duo of Daylon Charlot (Alabama commit) and Mykel Jones had big days in a losing effort to Brother Martin. Charlot had a pair of catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, while Jones returned a 97-yard kickoff for a score. Patterson fell 49-28.
